The Devotion: A Note On Moving Inward

This week's focus on The Devotion is moving inwards as a necassary step of self-care.

Keep strong boundaries with the world around you. Make pockets of time for meditation, silence, and being with yourself. Even if it\s only for 2 minutes. It is amazing how turning your attention toward your breath will immediately help you navigate from the inside.

Your mental and physical health is the top priority. as we move into fall on the northern hemisphere, we turn towards the inner world. Did we use our energy well? (btw we're in mercury retrograde now right?) Do we need to fill up some deposits before the winter? Now is a good time to make space for yourself, journal or meditate on how you want to move ahead. Who and what are you going to make more space for? And what can be weaned off? What can you get rid of?

In the gym this week, we focus on strengthening the lower part of the face.

Bones sparsely support the lower face as we have the opening of the mouth to facilitate. This makes the muscles and fascia sensitive to weakness, sagging, and gravity pull. To support the shape of the face, we must strengthen the "scaffolding" of the muscles which keep the shape of the face. Then, with cupping, we ensure that the skin cells (fibroblasts) get all the nourishment needed to produce strong collagen and elastin fiber networks. It’s an easy win/win to achieve with regular application and practice!
