Before & After: My Story
In the first photo I am 35 years, fast forward to now, and add 6 years of age. I am now 41 years old and feel so much younger in my face.
So many women I meet believe that aging happens incrementally, and I understand why. With old-fashioned science and media telling us things like “every year you lose 2% collagen” or “mature skin happens from the late 30’ies” etc etc. we are taught that there is one way 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼 and that is the body’s slow decline. Downhill!!
Yet!!! We see people all around us hacking this tendency and proving something different. We see people overcoming all kinds of “aging” or physical decline.
Yes, we shall all die and yes the body will get older. But there is a huge difference between becoming older and the belief that aging is one long slope downhill.
The signs of aging I experienced in my mid-thirties were mostly due to emotional stress and lack of movement. I didn’t yet understand at that point how much my face was holding onto previous pain. And I didn’t have the technology to release that tension and help my face bounce back to a more natural and healthy state.
I thought at that point that if cream couldn’t help, then the next step would be invasive treatments or cosmetic injections. I believed what most of the beauty industry is telling all of us. That we need to be fixed by something outside of us.
But I was wrong and I slowly started to unlearn all of my misconceptions when I found face yoga. I learned that the face needs the same thing as the rest of your body needs. It needs movement, touch and kindness. It needs patience & connection and face yoga was the first piece that gave me this.
Add to that good skincare, SPFs, a facial here and there, healthy food, plenty of water and good sleep. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ then you will look and feel like a gazillion bucks.
But face yoga is the foundation. Without movement, everything gets stalled.
That’s my message for you all today, a reminder to keep up the good work my dear face yogis. It doesn’t happen overnight, but I promise you it will happen. Prioritise your health and beauty, even on days where it feels almost impossible. Always do your face yoga.
