Loving Our Skin, Imperfections, Flaws and All!

Hello friends and face yogis,

This week I have been thinking a lot about holding space for your skin to do its thing and the amount of control we try to impart on it.

It’s not always easy to appreciate that with the best of our efforts and intentions, our skin can produce what we may call "imperfections".

The healthiest diets, the most dedicated face yoga practice and the cleanest beauty products still may not stop your skin … just doing its own thing!

I wanted to share some filter-free images of me in my skin over the last year, as it is, the transitions of it being beautifully affected by traces of melasma but healthy in its texture and radiance.

I notice that my skin condition can change dramatically depending on the climate, location I am in, or the underlying emotional state I am experiencing. I know I do what I can, and the best thing I can continue to do is love it no matter the external experience.

As I age I feel more comfortable with my skin's perfect imperfections. I can’t image my face without them and feel it would be flawed if they were removed.

Can being ‘perfect’ actually be flawed if it means we lose our unique features?

Wherever you are on your skin journey, know that it is perfect for you and not be too hard on yourself if you are not reaching your skin goals. Our skin changes as we do throughout our lives. The best thing we can do is love it as much as we can, embrace the skin we are in and step confidently through each day knowing we have done enough.

I promise you this is the most potent beauty tonic you can gift your skin! When I’m in my confident self I find people don’t even notice the flaws…

So shine on beautiful! Love your skin a little more today and let it love you back.

In Ibiza I found my skin was heavily affected by my melasma. The sun, heat and stress had a deep impact on my skin, it was very unexpected and nothing I could do whilst on the island would alleviate the melasma symptoms.

Returning to Denmark and the change of season has created a positive turn for my skin, with the melasma faded away and no longer as visible.

I have been using a new product which has made a big difference in my skins health and elasticity. The range from Ole Henriksen has worked wonders, you can shop the products I specifically use here
