Forehead Wrinkles Are Not What You Think They Are

The changes that you are seeing on your face as you get older (and wiser) are rarely aging of the skin, or anything that happens on the surface. Even forehead wrinkles! Then do not start at a skin surface layer. They start way deeper in the soft tissue of your face.

I will be honest with you, when I started my face yoga journey in my mid-thirties I was looking at the surface too. I thought I looked tired and somewhat angry, and I generally felt a sense of disappointment in my less-than-radiant appearance. 

Forward to today, now almost nine years older, and when I look at myself in the mirror, I can’t believe how freaking radiant I look, at least most of the time.

So what is going on here?

When you start to notice age-related changes it may be slight changes to the reflections on your face, the eye area may look a bit more gaunt, and maybe you see a tear through that wasn’t there before. A square or bony look at the cheekbones, slight jowls and swelling at the sides of the mouth or jawline, lips are looking thinner. All this has NOTHING to do with the skin or the surface of your face. Collagen creams or a vitamin serum are not going to change this. 

Facial fillers may! But they come with a risk, and some of the areas, like under the eyes, most injectors (with a conscience) won't touch anyway. So let’s just not go there. Maybe you’ve been there considering fillers, maybe you haven’t, maybe you’ve thought about it. And that is all okay, because.
