The Story Of My Face Yoga Gym and Why We Celebrate It’s Two Years Today!

How did My Face Yoga Gym come to be in existence? If you have been with me and following along for some time, you might know where & how I started. But for those of you who are new here, I would love to share the story of how the business has grown and come to life. 

Two years ago on my birthday, I decided to create what we know as the My  Face Yoga Gym platform. I was 41 and had been practising and training face yoga under the platform FaceYogi.life for 4 years but felt the calling to expand. There was an urge to grow what I know now as an embryo-type business into a full baby that could expand & grow as I was. 

With ideas that were running fast and creative expressions wanting to come through for the face yoga workouts, I sketched out the business idea for My Face Yoga Gym which included an app, so that busy people on the go could tap into the magic of face yoga and beauty science any time, anywhere. 

Although FaceYogi.life was my first 'business child' it wasn't able to expand in the way my intuition was telling me it could and needed to. So I leapt and decided to create a whole new business model. 

Up until that point, I had done everything - and I mean everything - myself. I was the technical support, the social media manager, the marketer, the videographer, the editor and the teacher. Building the platform from scratch was an experience in itself and those who have been with me from the beginning may remember how clunky the first platform was! I so appreciate you if you have been following me since then - and honestly, I can't believe you stuck around with how that first website was! 

Within FaceYogi.life there were so many elements that were just not working and not being a savvy tech person to solve the problems - it was quite a tough beginning. Starting a digital business with not a lot of digital tech-savvy experience is not something I would recommend! It was a lot of late nights, early mornings and sweaty out between juggling the kids trying to create the vision. 

But when the idea came to me for My Face Yoga Gym it became so clear and like I had a new lease on life to be motivated by for the business. It gave me the excitement of something new to run with that could work, and with that, I bit the bullet and hired my first team member - in tech! That meant that the new My Face Yoga Gym interface had an upgrade and we could invite so many more people into the gym to experience face yoga (and not be put off by the tech problems!)

It's been an amazing two years since, to been on the ride of the wave with a business I can put so much love into and expand my visions through. To be able to have a business there means I can continue to be a full-time single mum to my four children. It's by no way easy and it's nowhere near the goals that I hope and vision for the business to be, but the path that I am on inspires me each day to continue and push away the thoughts that could be in comparison to others, or judgemental about my progress. 

The business is naturally where it is to best suit my energy and capacity, and the journey is more of a reward than the destination! 

So many people have tried the MYFG app gym and there are still a lot of who are actively still practicing so that's just one of my biggest goals. People can discover the MFYG, they can try face yoga, they love it or don't have time for it, but they have a chance to discover the possibility of natural face healing that is so empowering over injectables. 

All of this makes celebrating this two-year birthday of the gym more exciting for me as it's a milestone and achievement to make it here. It's not only celebrating the anniversary, it is celebrating the practice, celebrating our connection to our faces, and celebrating getting older in an uplifting loving way. Celebrating ourselves in a more empowered way through the everyday connection back to our face and allowing ourselves to appreciate where we are in this moment. 

The goals of the My Face Yoga Gym are much more than achieving glowing skin or softening down wrinkles. For me, and what I hope you all have a chance to feel, is about softening the connection with your humanity, the sensation of being alive and loving the skin you are in as you grow. 

The MFYG app is a place where I hope you can take that time every day to just get back to this place of connection and equilibrium with yourself. Because the tension will build up, the world can be a scary place and so much can happen to us. 

 The face shows it all, from uplifting things and the things that weigh us down, they quite literally weigh down on the face. Life and living create tension on the face, and the MFYG comes in as this place where we can go in and learn how to peel back the layers of the day. Soften the guards that we put up which are showing on our face, and allow ourselves to be able to read ourselves in an honest and vulnerable place - through our face. 

These are the keys for the MFYG and I hope you discover how powerful they can continue to be in your life. It's the strength of this practice that allows you to take the reigns on not letting the years take such a big toll on your face. It's called 'winding-the-clock-back' which is what face yoga does. We are both 'winding back the clock' and at the same time preventing the clock and time from affecting the face in such a strong way!
