The Top 5 Beauty Tools I Can’t Live Without

"Although the hands are my greatest tool, I love what

these beauty tools bring to my face!” Niki

Time is of the essence, we live busy lives that need our beauty routines to match the pressures we are under. Beauty tools offer us solutions that nature hasn't given to match the modern day influx of toxins and stress.

My community of #beautynerds is abuzz with the newest tools, fads and trends for these anti-aging wonders. I have compiled my top 5 tools that I truly can't live without and upgrade my Face Yoga practice.

1. Facial Cups

My favourite go to for an amazing hydrating boost for the skin. Facial cupping is an alternative therapy that uses handy little suction cups to stimulate the face’s skin and muscles.

The suction promotes increased blood circulation, which helps to achieve a fast natural glow and can relieve muscle tension. These simple cups also promote cell repair, and aid in other regeneration which makes them the perfect, safe and natural anti-aging tool.

The facial cups are also said to improve the flow of your “qi” (pronounced “chee”). Qi is a Chinese word meaning life force, which is the origins of the facial cups.

I recommend the Lumin Cup set by @wildling_beauty is great for beginners. You can find it here and enjoy 10% off when you shop with Wildling.

2. The Obsido Skin Facial Cup from Sara Lorentsen

Is amazing for people who are familiar with cupping. A slightly harder face cup with increased suction. The Obsido Skin Facial Cup has a slightly more firm silicone cup that goes deep. It helps increase nutrient supply and hydrate the cells in the soft tissue, muscle, fat, fascia, and other connective tissues, it also helps the face natural detoxification process. I love this slightly firmer cup which has a stronger suction whilst still being suitable for home facials. OBSIDO SKIN facial cupping is 100% Silicone (free of BPA, PVC, and ftalater) - which means it is a win win!

There are thousands of beauty tools now available ranging from ancient massage tools through to the most cutting edge technology. It’s sci-fi meets the ancients!

With a high range of benefits to skin health and offering anti-aging technology that nature can’t.

3. Gua Sha

There is nothing quite like the gua sha from Wildling. The signature design, the ‘Empress Stone’ is a smooth, textured gua sha that aims to lift, sculpt, tone, and de-puff the skin.

I fell in love with the precious Bian stone, which is an amalgamate of 40+ minerals known for their healing properties and that skin absolutely loves.

The architectural design of the Empress Stone is intended to enhance the practice and technique of your daily routine, amplifying this beauty tool to absolute necessity.

Facial gua sha is a form of gentle self-massage adapted from the traditional Chinese medicine technique that entails using a flat stone with specific strokes to help the skin with its natural healing processes. Ideally, the gua sha tool is a stone that's been designed to suit the contours of the face.

The foundational practice of gua sha involves slow, steady strokes that can create the appearance of lift, tone, clarity, and brightness in the face both immediately, and with enhanced results over time.

4. Kinesiotape

Ok, so this is not fully a face tool. But still! It’s close enough, I can’t live with out and it is amazing to reprogram muscles and balancing your face. Kinesiotape is therapeutic taping technique which alleviates pain and facilitates lymphatic drainage by microscopically lifting the skin.

This gentle kinesiology tape is very suitable to use on people with very sensitive skin and is safe enough to use on vulnerable areas, for example on the face or on thin skin. There are many benefits of using the tape, such as moisture removal is improved, the lymphatic drainage that causes things like edema and bags under the eyes is eased. The regeneration process of the connective tissue is stimulated. The tape ensures that a stimulus is given to the collagen and connective tissue that provides a recovery response, which over time creates a firmer connective tissue and skin improvement becomes visible. Fine wrinkles are more likely to disappear and deep wrinkles become less visible. The muscle tone can be activated or sedated with tape.

5. Led Masks

Because I love napping and you can easily make this part of your midday rejuvenating routine. Infra red meets infra red light that also works perfectly with face yoga to restore sore muscles and help them rebuild faster.

LED light therapy can be used to treat a wide range of skin concerns, depending on the types of LED lights used. They can increase collagen production for more youthful looking skin, help to manage and reduce acne breakouts, and aid in fading hyperpigmentation and signs of visible ageing including wrinkles and fine lines.

The key to using them though — the same as with in-salon LED treatments — is consistency. If you don’t use your mask frequently, you’re unlikely to see results. So to really get the most out of these sci-fi beauty machines, make sure the LED light therapy device you choose is one you’re happy to use a few times a week (or however often the manufacturer’s instructions recommend).
